Are you or someone you know interested in doing independent research on a topic pertaining to Perrysburg's history and presenting a public lecture on the results of this research?

Anyone with such an interest is invited to submit an application for our Commissioned Lecture Program. A stipend is provided to assist the researcher in gathering and presenting his or her information. Historic Perrysburg has developed the commissioned lecture series as a way of encouraging research into Perrysburg's history and promoting an appreciation for this area's rich heritage and the contributions of area residents to the architectural, social, cultural and political developments of our times.

To apply, please send a one-page description of your proposed topic and the independent research you will do to prepare for the presentation. Please include information on any particular expertise you may have in the area of the research. Include contact information and the earliest dates at which you anticipate concluding the project and delivering the public lecture.

Ted Ligibel, historic preservationist who teaches at Eastern Michigan University, was the first commissioned lecturer, researching Perrysburg arts and crafts bungalows.

Last year Historic Perrysburg helped to support the visit of Perrysburg native and nationally known historian Douglas Brinkley, to help Way Library celebrate its 125th anniversary. Mr. Brinkley spoke on how growing up in Perrysburg influenced his choice of history as a career.

Applications may be sent in hard copy format to:
