This modest Victorian house was built in 1888 for Perrysburg industrialist Sewell P. Tolman.  Noteworthy features of the house are the extremely narrow front windows and gingerbread ornamentation in the front gable and on the porch.

Tolman was born in 1823 in Keene, New Hampshire and moved to Perrysburg ca. 1880to buy an interest in a wood box factory, which he eventually owned. The boxes and crates he made were largely for fruit.
