A statement about historic preservation...

History is as elusive as the wind. Its only tangible evidence is what is man-made, and if what is man-made is somehow architecturally or historically significant, it is worth preserving.

This website has been  prepared as a continuing project of Historic Perrysburg, Inc., a volunteer historic preservation organization, in the belief that, at the very least, most of the houses and commercial buildings featured here are worth knowing and preserving. It is also our belief that knowing something about the owner and / or builder of each most likely makes the viewer look more closely and with better appreciation.

Our Visitor's Guide to Historic Perrysburg offers additional information about the history of the surrounding area as well as a self-guided walking tour of the historic homes and businesses. It is available at many of the uptown shops and local hotels.
